A chance meeting between a resentful son and his childhood sweetheart triggers a chain of events. Well laid plans result in divorce, death and an early inheritance.
He’s got what he wants. The girl, the money and control of his life, but his accomplice has other ideas. She’s killed once with a smile on her face, a second time shouldn’t be too challenging.
This is a short story, just 2500 words, but it’s a fun read and written while waiting to attend the funeral of a close friend. – He would have approved.
